Welcome to What's to Eat?

Hawaiian Pizza
I would like to thank you for stopping by and welcome you to my new blog: What's to Eat?  Dining in and Dining Out Culinary Adventures.

This idea was born out of a love for food and the enjoyment I've found in sharing with my other blog, Whitt's Kits Fabrics & Crafts.  For the past three years I've been blogging there about a crafty life and for the last bit, I'd tossed in some dabbling in the world of food and cooking.

I've always enjoyed cooking, cleaning up...not so much, but that's the way it goes.  Kind of can't have one without the other, unless one of you wonderful friends wants to lend my your dish fairy...no?  Then I guess I'll have to handle it.

I chose the name, What's to Eat? from years of hearing that from my family.  I'd come home from work, or on the days I'd be home, they'd come in and it that was always one of the first things they'd say, after "Hi, mom..."  It was "Hi, mom...I had a great/bad/icky day...what's to eat?"

The plan is pretty broad at this point, but that's how I roll - open to lots of ideas and fun.  I will continue to share recipes I make up and discover, as I did over at Whitt's Kits, but I will add:
  • restaurant, shop and book reviews
  • check out cooking related products
  • have interviews with food related folks and bloggers
  • create contests to up the fun potential
  • find help for us all to make the cooking part of our lives easier, like menu plans and organization tips
  • help connect you to other knowledgeable food folks you might not otherwise find
  • develop themed journeys to explore the world of food around us
  • discuss a range of ideas from the garden to the plate
  • and whatever else strikes my fancy OR that you ask to see!!
You will find information, ideas and things of note dealing with both dining in and dining out.  Needless to say, my husband is rather THRILLED at the prospect of "helping" me with the research on this blog... as you might imagine.  He's already started a list of restaurants we need to "check out...for the blog, dear...really...that's all..."

Did the Hawaiian Pizza at the top of this post catch your eye?  Head over HERE for the recipe.

Thanks for joining us on this journey - should be a lot of fun! See you soon and happy cooking (OR eating out...),
Carrie
