Iced Coffee Ice Cubes: *Palm to Forehead*

Has anyone else ever thought "Geez, but my iced coffee get's weak as the ice melts..." or is it just me?

I had the "palm to the forehead" moment when I saw somewhere in the vastness that is the Internet, make your ice cubes from coffee and put THEM in your iced coffee.  OMG... so simple and yet so amazing!  Seriously - have you all been doing this for eons?  Am I the last iced coffee drinker to discover this?

All you need to do is take some leftover coffee (or is that the issue - is there such a thing?) and freeze it in an ice cube tray.  Once they are frozen, pop them out and keep in a container in the freezer.

Then, on a gorgeous day like today, put them in your iced coffee and viola!  You have iced coffee that is as strong (or stronger) than when you started, NOT weaker as the ice melts.
Like the mug?  It's from my classroom teaching days!
Holy cow, I can't believe it's that easy.  It makes a huge difference in taste, too.  So there you go - quickest, easiest recipe EVER!

Note: This is Shauna's favorite drink now!  She's hooked!

Enjoy,
Carrie

  2. Perfect! Of course! It's just there is definitely none of that "leftover" to make them with! Haha!

  3. I love iced coffee (just had one) whether it's from instant or brewed. This is a great idea. I had heard of something similar in using frozen fruit or fruit juice to keep punch from weakening but I don't think I've ever made a punch in my life!

  4. It's one of those ideas that you are like, "Why didn't I think of that?" I have to try the juice ones. Thanks!

  5. This would be a great idea if we ever had leftover coffee. With our Keurig, that just doesn't happen anymore. But it is a great idea!

  6. We have that same "problem" - not because of Keurig, but because we drink it! :)
